The range of online safety talks detailed below will allow audiences to quickly develop an understanding of the crucially important health and safety lessons and issues that relate directly with Gary’s accident.

Duration: Approx. 1 hour

This Work at Height Regulations 2005 Awareness Talk combines facts of Gary’s and other fall from height accidents, in relation to current Work at Height Regulations (2005) guidance, and reveals the consequences of failing to manage the associated risks. The talk also deals with an issue which has the potential to affect almost all employers and most employees – unplanned or casual work at height, and crucially, how this can be controlled.
This is particularly important for employers to address in relation to work at height. Work at height makes any place a person can fall and be injured a workplace where the person should be protected from the risk of fall. Information aimed at providing a deeper understanding of the “hierarchy of controls” is provided, and the full talk ends with examples of recent court judgements involving work at height accidents, followed by important information concerning inspection, testing and maintenance of permanent edge protection.
Construction Design and Management Regulations (2015) Awareness Talk
Duration: Approx. 45 minutes

The Construction Design and Management Regulations (2015) Awareness Talk identifies the facts of Gary’s accident, how they relate to current CDM guidance, and the consequences of failure to communicate and manage the risks under the CDM 2015 Regulations. Thereby, through real life examples of Gary’s accident, the regulations become clear – to achieve understanding when responsibilities are also discussed and considered.
Stress in the Workplace
Duration: Approx. 35 minutes

Stress in the Workplace identifies what was at the root of the stress Gary suffered during periods in his life. This talk details some of the triggers and factors that can lead to stress generally, including some of the physical and emotional signs to look out for.
Importantly, it provides the solution (TEMPO), that Gary developed, to overcome the problem personally. TEMPO could be very helpful to others struggling to deal with stress in the workplace, and indeed in everyday life.
